After watching their feature on Pop Talk of GMA 7, I have been craving to try Lee Hak Unlimited Barbecue Restaurant. I liked what I saw from their feature and its probably the only Korean buffet restaurant that also offers a make your own bibimbap. Fortunately, they opened a second branch here in Quezon city right next to my gym. (insert evil face here lol)

So when my boyfriend and I finally had the time to try the restaurant, it wasn't what I thought it was. Just like most buffet aficionados, I always check restaurant reviews before trying a restaurant and its not all good. The most recent reviews were a mix of bad and good so I thought maybe some of their customers were just very picky.

Budget-wise, Lee Hak is much affordable compared to other Korean buffet restaurants starting at 349 pesos on weekday lunch. In addition, they serve a lot more cooked food choices compared to their competition that only serves side dishes.

However, when it comes to the quality of the food, presentation, overall ambiance, Lee Hak failed my standards miserably. And I'm not a picky eater. I just know what my money's worth and eating there on a Sunday lunch for 500 pesos is so not worth it.

All the cooked food are cold, the meat tasted different (compared to their competitors), and it took a while before they refilled some of the food. The only thing I liked about Lee Hak is the fact that you can get your own food anytime as they served everything in buffet style versus their competitors where I had to call and wait for my waiter to serve my food.

And then there's the table layout. What I hate so much about buffet restaurants is when they try to squeeze in as many tables as they can just to be able to accommodate more customers without considering if plus size girls like me would fit in the middle pathways.

Verdict: I feel sorry for Lee Hak because there was a time when their restaurant was trending on social media and all the tables were full. It took a while before I tried it and by the time I was able to - the restaurant was only 1/3 full and I'm not surprised why.
