So I just finished watching "The Haunting of Hill House" in Netflix and it's definitely the scariest horror series I have ever watched! And by scary I mean you shouldn't sleep alone the moment you finish the series.


Scare Factor: 10 out of 10

It's not like other horror series that lose the scare factor after a few episodes because the main characters have befriended the ghost, or is already communicating with them like a friend. It's like watching the scariest movie you've ever seen for 10 hours straight. It actually gets scarier and scarier in every episode.

You shouldn't watch it alone

I strongly advise watching the series with a group of people because not only is it more fun but its really scary to watch it alone. But if you don't have a choice and you can only watch it at a time when you're alone, watch it in the morning. Or at least make sure daylight is already there by the time you finish the movie so it's not that scary to sleep after.Funny thing is I watched the series with my siblings and told them we will watch until its 5 AM so I won't be scared to sleep alone. Unfortunately, daylight wasn't there by 5 AM and they are already sleepy so they can't stay up with me until 6. I didn't have a choice and had to keep my eyes open until 6 AM. Every little sound made me paranoid and it was not fun!

It's a must to watch it in one seating

Although the series only has 10 episodes, each one is 1 hour long so it will take 10 hours to complete the series. That may seem like a long time but, believe me, you have to finish it in one seating. Despite the many jumpscares, finishing one episode makes you very curious about what happens next. And if there's one thing we all noticed is that each episode felt like 20 minutes long so by the time we reached the 5th episode - we couldn't believe we have already watched for 5 hours!

Overall:

It's not like any horror series you have watched. Don't forget to up the volume when watching to make the most out of your watching experience.
