I am using an HP ink tank Wireless 415 and I started having a problem with the paper feeder in its 2nd year. At first, it takes a couple of tries before it feeds thick papers which are usually photo papers. In its 3rd year, I had to be right beside my printer when printing in bulk as the feeder wouldn't work every 4 to 5 prints.

How I fixed my printer that would not feed paper?

After researching online, one of the best solutions I found was cleaning the paper feeder rollers using wet cotton buds. This only helped a little because the opening for the paper of my printer is too narrow so my hand wouldn't fit all the way and I couldn't clean the rollers properly.

The better solution is instead of using wet cotton buds is to use wet wipes. Just cover your three fingers with the wipes and reach for the paper rollers and start rolling. After cleaning rollers all around, change the wipes and repeat the process until there is no dirt that shows up on your wipes after wiping the rollers.

This technique thoroughly cleaned the rollers and after air drying it - my computer now worked 100%!

Where to find the paper feeder rollers of my printer?

You can find the paper feeder rollers when you look at the area where you put the papers in your printer. All printers have 2 rollers which usually look like the photo below

The color of the rollers above is black but sometimes it also comes in gray color.

Will this work on other models and brands of printers too?

Ideally, this technique should also work with other printer models and brands. It would be easier if your printer has a bigger paper feed opening as cleaning the rollers will be faster. If not, its okay as you can just reach it just like the way I did it.

What if it still doesn't work after cleaning it?

If this technique still doesn't work, it probably means you need to replace it because I saw many spare paper feeder roller sold separately. However, just to be sure, consult your brand's service centers first.
